What is DFARS and RoHS:
Ameralloy Steel works with the best mills around the world. We offer DFAR and Domestic material upon request. Other mill sources help with overall cost, unique sizes, and grades. Please let your sales representative know you are interested in obtaining DFAR or domestic material, and they should be reminded of this information.
The ROHS program was formed as part of an effort to reduce the amount of potentially hazardous chemicals used in producing electrical and electronic equipment. Pb, Hg, Cd, Hex-Cr, PBB, and PBDE are among the elements that are tested for in every ROHS product (PBDE). Homogeneous raw materials may contain no more than 0.01 percent of cadmium and chromium hexavalent in terms of their combined weight. For lead, PBB, and PBDE levels in homogenous raw materials to be regarded safe, they must exceed 0.1 percent of the total weight. Components that comply with RoHS standards must have no more than 100 ppm of mercury, and the mercury must not have been added to the element on purpose. In addition, the material maximum mercury content must not exceed 100 ppm.
