Nickel 904L

Features and Suppliers of Nickel 904L

Fully austenitic nickel that contains additions but has a low amount of carbon. Nickel 904L is an example of a fully austenitic form of nickel. It is one of the most resistant metals to corrosion, making it one of the strongest. In addition, it does not exhibit any magnetic properties and boasts excellent formability, toughness, and weld ability. Because we are a supplier of Nickel 904L, we would be pleased to answer any questions you might have regarding this product.

Applications of Nickel 904L –

Some of the items we manufacture are used in oil refineries, gas scrubbers, paper mills, acid plants, and medical industry.

Characteristics of Nickel 904L

Because it contains a higher percentage of nickel and chromium, 904L is an excellent choice for its corrosion resistance. It retains a significant quantity of Iron, which is the primary contributor.

The Constituent Parts of the Substance –

The elements nickel and chromium are the most important, with respective contributions of at least 23 and 20 percent, respectively, to the whole sum. This suggests that corrosion resistance is superior to any other property. In descending order, the following percentages are as follows: MO (4 percent), CO (2.5 percent), MN (2 percent), Si (1 percent), and Cu (1 percent) (1-2 percent). After that, you will need to employ Iron to increase it to a range of +47 percent.

Capability to weld and operate machinery –

The metal is capable of being quickly melted and machined, depending on what it is that you require. You will have no trouble adjusting the weights to achieve the perfect balance you desire.

It’s the Rolex Difference —

Rolex watches were constructed using 904L nickel on select components; however, the company has shifted to employing exclusively 904L nickel across the board. This was because the resistance to wear and corrosion that 316L possessed was not adequate for their requirements.
