Nitronic 50

Nitronic 50 Supplier & Features

Nitronic 50 is a product Ameralloy Steel stocks. Because of its exceptional corrosion resistance, stainless steel 316 is a similar material of choice for the construction of maritime vessels. It has outstanding cryogenic capabilities, and in addition, it features an incredibly low magnetic permeability. It does not become magnetic like other metals of a similar composition when subjected to temperatures below minus 100 degrees Celsius.

Applications & Industries Utilizing Nitronic 50

Because it possesses a wide variety of qualities and advantages, Nitronic 50 is an ideal option for various applications and industries. Nitronic 50 is used due to its resistance to corrosion and high level of strength. The following are examples of industries in which it is utilized frequently:

  • Petroleum
  • The processing of food is a significant contributor to the economy.
  • Valves
  • Fittings
  • Fasteners
  • Additionally, there are also chains and cables to consider.
  • Axles for the pumps that move saltwater
  • Gadgets that transmit heat via infrared light
  • Heat transfer devices.
  • Accessories and Parts for Boats

Nitronic 50’s Key Characteristics and Functions

Heat Exchange –

Nitronic 50 stainless steel, like other grades of stainless steel, demonstrates many of the same qualities when subjected to different temperatures. Since 316 can keep its neutrality even when subjected to low temperatures, this is the primary advantage that 316 has over other alloys for applications in areas that regularly drop below freezing or experience freezing temperatures. Nitronic 50 continues to be preferred to 316.

Corrosion Resistance –

One of the benefits of austenitic stainless is resistance to corrosion in environments and its ability to withstand a wide range of temperature fluctuations. Another benefit that Nitronic 50 offers over 316 is its higher corrosion resistance. Because it is resistant to corrosion, it is ideal for usage in saltwater and cold environments. However, the resistance to breaking that Nitronic 50 possesses is midway between 304 and 316. Nitronic 50 has a low potential for cracking, whether it has been annealed, high-strength, or cold-drawn into shape.
