Stainless 303 Supplier
Stainless 303 is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy the are highly resistant to corrosive environments and nonmagnetic. Stainless 303 was developed to be used for screw machining applications because it is the easiest to machine in the 300 series.
The composition of 303 is 18% chromium and 8% nickel. Sulfur or selenium are added to make this easier on tooling life and can run at fast machining feed speeds. Typical uses of 303 are used to produce high tolerance and small intricate parts. It is commonly used to make bearing shafts, gears, bolts, and screws.
The 303 series stainless steel is good at standing high temperatures while retaining its strength. Since it has sulfur added to help in causing sulfite inclusions to allow the cutting of the material, it is more susceptible to surface rust.
