One way of producing a hex bar is cold drawing. Drawing stainless steel helps retain the hex’s edges’ sharpness and consistent appearance. A stainless hex bar is offered annealed hot-rolled, followed by cold-drawn material. Compared to a hot-rolled hex bar, a cold-drawn hex bar has a more uniform finish and tighter tolerances. In most cases, the tolerance for stainless steel hex bars is usually plus nothing. Stainless hex has chamfered ends to help with being fed into screw machine bar feeders.
The diameters range anywhere from 1/8 inches to 8 inches. Cold-drawn hex bars have a brighter finish and more precise tolerances than their hot-rolled material.
Material with a diameter that is greater than 3 inches are special order. Please get in touch with us for the current price and delivery.
