Nitronic 40

Nitronic 40 Supplier

Nitronic 40 has a high manganese concentration, making it a good choice for various applications due to its versatility. Because of the alloy’s great strength and resistance to corrosion, it can be used in environments that experience high temperatures. Nitronic 40 is a substance that, in addition to being able to tolerate high temperatures, also possesses the property of being able to withstand shallow and cryogenic temperatures. Because of this, Nitronic 40 is an excellent option to utilize in environments with low temperatures. It is a good choice for cryogenic and cold marine environments.

Uses of Nitronic 40

  • Aviation and aerospace engineering
  • Manufacturing
  • Industries related to hospitals and medical care
  • The gas industry’s infrastructure
  • Clamps
  • Flanges
  • Adapters and hoses for hydraulic systems
  • Chemical agents
  • Methods for the avoidance of pollution
  • Applications that need the use of cryogenics
  • The autoclave and several steam-related parts

Nitronic 40’s characteristics

Having a High Resistance to Corrosion:

Nitronic 40 is an excellent choice due to its exceptional corrosion resistance in terms of its compatibility with chemicals. It has better resistance than 304 stainless. They share many characteristics with 304 and 316 materials. After 15 years of testing in different temperatures and seacoast environments, it demonstrated excellent resistance to breaking. Because of this, the Nitronic 40 is a perfect option.

Weldable as well as machineable

Because of the high nitrogen content, electron beam welding can be made significantly more difficult, as with other Nitronic grades. The machining procedure causes Nitronic 40 to acquire a higher degree of hardness. For this, you will need resilient tooling, hefty feeds, and slower speeds. Welding can also be accomplished using procedures such as TIG, MIG, and shielded metal arc welding.

Workable

Nitronic 40 is helpful in various settings, including those with varying temperatures. The annealing process is utilized at temperatures ranging from 1300 to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit to provide the highest possible stress rupture. Working with heated materials necessitates a temperature range of 2100 to 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. Annealing can be performed at temperatures between 1950 and 2050 degrees Fahrenheit.
